About NESA ABSU

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics degree is the intended outcome of the undergraduate study offered by this department. Below is a quick description of the programme.

Additionally, students enrolled in programmes outside the Department take courses taught by the Department. These students mostly come from the Sociology and Education faculties as well as from other Departments within the Faculty of the Social Sciences.

The program’s primary goal is to provide a thorough training in both the technique and application of economic analysis, with particular reference to problems facing contemporary Nigeria within a global context. It is typically expected to last 3–4 sessions (six–eight semesters). The necessary courses aim to address the essential ideas and methodologies that ought to be the minimal need for every economist. Practically every area of economics and business study is covered in the optional courses, which enable specialisation in these areas.
